Climamed'13 VII.Mediterranean Congress Of Climatization
Air conditioning is one of the major sectors contributing to the overall energy consumption today. As the living standards are improving and the demand for comfort is increasing, air conditioning is becoming indispensable. The need to find a sustainable solution for our energy consumption has become ever more important. Achieving sustainable energy consumption is one of the major goals of developed societies around the world. Likewise, research on Net-Zero Energy Buildings has become increasingly popular and highly supported by many governments. This issue only contributes further to the importance of energy consumption, especially its relation to air conditioning, since it is so vital for the Mediterranean climate. Principal air conditioning associations that share the regional challenges and are regulated by similar European laws have been coming together for the Mediterranean Congress of Air Conditioning (CLIMAMED), since 2004. CLIMAMED provides a forum to exchange knowledge and experience for designers, manufacturers, contractors, and end-users alike.
Hosted by TTMD (Turkey), with co-organizers AICARR (Italy), AICVF (France), APIRAC (Portugal), and ATECYR (Spain), CLIMAMED’13 will be held in Istanbul. The legendary capital of the Byzantine, Roman, and Ottoman Empires and the only city to connect two continents, Istanbul is among the world’s largest cosmopolitan centers. A beautiful city with a mild Mediterranean climate, Istanbul will provide the ideal backdrop for the CLIMAMED attendees.
